TRIED watching today (no, I did not doing any betting, have no clue who's good and who's bad, I think they all suck). Watching led to one thing = a REAL GOOD NAP.

6 teams today and a total of 6 goals were scored. Talk about being bored to death, thank god i don't own a gun. :nohead:

Could never understand why these hooligans always cause some much chaos and destruction. There so #*%ing bored with this so called sport they turn suicidal and are just BEGGING for someone to put them out of there misery.

Not a single shut out, granted not the most exciting sport either but this World Cup thing has to be the most boring sport on this planet.

Yes it's BORING. As you know, half of today's teams scored 0 goals.
Run up and down the field (good sport to stay in shape though, you don't see any fat guys in soccer) 15,000 times, kick the ball once in awhile, get a little breather when the ball goes out of bounds every 2 minutes, roll on the ground like you've been shot or kicked in the balls when someone runs you over (them soccer players are good actors i must say).
6 total goals in 270+ minutes = boringggggggggggggg.

Yes, bicycle kicks are cool. What, you get to see 1 of those every 15 games.

I like Soccer...but yes it is a boring sport, not as boring as Domino Championships, bet boring to say the least. If I did not have $$ on any games I would not care to watch.

Baseball has got some good pace and speed going for it, you gotta love to watch a few guys spitting insesantly and jacking it off on a diamond, brilliant stuff that's why it's got so mad fans around the world and it's caught on in...oh fuck, wait, nobody fucking plays this sport anywhere else in the world (japan maybe)...pathetic.

To each his own of course, but it takes some balls to come and say a sport that's in every corner of the globe and has some billions of fans watching it boring..you know maybe you are the one driving down the opposite way on the highway and not the other few thousands coming at you.

I must say, the announcement of a rare goal (you know, goooooooaaaaaalllllllllllll) is way cool those announcers get very creative these days, and yes I'm dead serious. That's the best part of the game, for me.

Why does this come up every World Cup? The World Cup is one of the most awesome, exciting sporting events in the world. I personally only prefer the Super Bowl and the Stanley Cup over it. I don't understand how people can say how boring soccer is and then sit and watch baseball. Talk about a snoozefest, in baseball during a 3 hour game the ball is in play for something like 8-10 minutes. You see more close-ups of managers scratching their crotch than you see of actual game play. I can respect baseball, but I would much rather watch soccer anyday.

For all those who hate soccer...please just don't watch it. That way you won't post how much you find it so boring.

You find it boring because you could careless about the teams. You dont' understand the sport. You don't like the buildup to scoring opportunities. You don't appreciate what players can do with their feet instead of their hands with most sports.

How boring is NASCAR?? They go around a track for like 3hrs. People would say golf is boring. But there are diehard fans in each sport because they find something they enjoy about it.

But you don't hear people saying "Golf is so boring" when the US Open starts or how stupid NASCAR is when the Daytona 500 approaches. It's just something about soccer that makes people want to say it sucks. Like it's cool to say it. There was a thread about this already in the main forum before the WC. Started the same way.

I think it's just that people hear the hype about soccer and see all the stories about it. So they wonder what they might be missing out on. So they watch a game and are disappointed. If you stare at a Jackson Pollack painting you see random splatters of paints and think it's stupid. But a fan or a art historian will see so many different layers and be amazed.

So it's annoying that these haters always come around every four years and say the same old stuff.

Don't watch it. Don't read about it. Don't see the highlights. If it comes on TV go to the fridge and eat some leftovers. We don't really care if you find it boring. So don't waste another minute watching it.

Benny, I'm going back home to Jacksonville this week for 5 days. If you want to go to a bar and watch some of the matches, it would be very cool to watch with a fellow soccer fan. Lord knows there aren't that many of us in America, let alone Jacksonville where dat thare NASCAR is king
